To install the Bocci Cluster 57.13 Semi-Rigid pendant light fixture, please follow the instructions provided in the instruction manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Measure and mark the position of the light fixture canopy on the ceiling. Ensure that the client has provided a robust 16mm (5/8") plywood backing or wood blocking to securely anchor to the structural substrate.
2. Anchor the plywood backing to the structural ceiling substrate. The connections from the plywood to the structural substrate are the client's responsibility.
3. Connect the power supplies to the line voltage. For the LED lamps, connect the black wire to black and the white wire to white. For the ground connection, connect the green wire with a yellow stripe to the bare copper wire or green wire in the junction box. Bocci strongly recommends mounting power supplies remotely in a close, accessible, and hidden location for ease of long-term maintenance. It is advised to have the installation done by certified personnel to ensure compliance with the code.
4. Anchor the canopy into the plywood backing using the fasteners provided.
5. Turn on the power to the fixture.
6. Carefully uncoil the braided coaxial cable in a spool-like manner. Insert your index fingers into opposite sides of the roll and rotate your fingers around each other to unroll the coaxial cable. Be patient and allow the cable to uncoil completely to avoid kinks.
7. Attach the lamp to the coax socket and slide the brass cap onto the coaxial cable. Ensure that the power to the lamp is working correctly.
8. Each pendant terminates in a "headphone jack" type connector, which plugs into a receiving receptacle in the canopy. Clients are encouraged to compose their own pendant configuration on-site to create a unique fixture. After plugging in each pendant, turn the threaded sheath into place by hand, ensuring it is adequately tightened. No tools are required. Check that each lamp is working properly as you go along by keeping the power to the fixture on and lamps plugged in.
9. Clean any fingerprints from the swag hook xxxx on the ceiling.
10. Ensure that the ceiling at the swag location is strong enough to hold 2kg (5lbs) before attaching the swag hook with the provided screws. Thread the swag hook onto the mounting plate, ensuring all the threads are engaged. Slide the ball end of the aircraft cable into the slot on the swag hook. Note: Some installations may require the use of a swag jack ring, which allows pendants to be swagged from the canopy.
11. Insert the lamp assembly into the glass pendant and thread the brass cap onto the pendant.
12. Loosen the setscrew and thread the aircraft cable through the slot. Feed the aircraft cable under the setscrew and make a loop. Adjust the height and tighten the setscrew to secure the aircraft cable. Cut the aircraft cable using wire cutters.
13. Slide the coax cable through the slot on the pendant holder and thread the glass cap onto the pendant, ensuring that the coax remains seated in the slot.
14. Clean any fingerprints from the surfaces.
