1. Pre-Installation:
- Compare all parts with the Hardware Included and Package Contents sections to ensure nothing is missing or damaged.
- If any part is missing or damaged, do not install the product and contact Hampton Bay Customer Service.
- Gather the necessary tools for installation.
2. Hardwire Installation:
- Carefully unpack and lay all parts on a clean, level surface.
- Remove the preassembled back plate by unscrewing the back plate screws.
- Remove the electrical tape on the wire connectors and turn them counterclockwise to remove them from the black and white cord.
- Unwire the black and white wire from the cord, making sure to keep the rotary switch back wire connected.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the outlet box using the outlet box screws.
- Make the electrical connections by connecting the negative wire (white) from the fixture to the negative wire from the outlet box, the positive wires (black) from the fixture to the positive wires from the outlet box, and the bare copper wire from the fixture to the grounding conductor of the supply circuit.
- Secure all connections together with the wire connectors and wrap electrical tape around them.
- Assemble the tube to the fixture.
- Place the fixture over the mounting bracket and align the holes of the mounting bracket with the holes on the fixture. Secure with mounting bracket screws.
- Remove the socket ring from the fixture.
- Install the shade onto the socket using the socket ring.
- Install the light bulb (not included) into the socket.
3. Plug-In Installation:
- Carefully unpack and lay all parts on a clean, level surface.
- Determine the desired location of the fixture and mark the anchor locations on the wall.
- Drill holes for the anchors and tap them into the wall until secure.
- Set two mounting wall screws into the anchors, leaving enough exposed to set into the keyhole slots on the fixture.
- Assemble the tube to the fixture and remove the socket ring from the fixture assembly.
- Secure the shade to the socket on the fixture using the socket ring.
- Align the keyhole slots on the fixture with the mounting wall screws on the wall and gently push the canopy toward the wall and slide down until secure.
4. Adjusting the cord (optional):
- If desired, adjust the cord length between the plug and the canopy.
- Slide the plug cap off the cord plug and cut the cord to the desired length.
- Re-attach the cord to the cord plug by inserting the cord back into the cord plug and pressing down firmly.
- Secure the cord by sliding the plug cap back onto the cord plug.
5. Installing the light bulb:
- Install the light bulb (not included) into the socket on the fixture assembly.
