To install the driver for the tp-link Archer T4U Plus Wireless USB Adapter, you have two options:
Option 1: Directly connect the adapter to your computer.
1. Plug the adapter into an available USB port on your computer.
2. Proceed to the "Install Driver" section below.
Option 2: Connect the adapter via the USB Extension Cable.
1. Connect one end of the USB Extension Cable to the adapter.
2. Plug the other end of the USB Extension Cable into an available USB port on your computer.
3. Proceed to the "Install Driver" section below.
Install Driver:
1. Insert the CD that came with the adapter into your computer's CD drive. The CD should automatically run the Autorun.exe program. If it doesn't, navigate to the CD drive and run the Autorun.exe file manually.
Note: If you don't have the CD or prefer to download the driver, you can visit the tp-link website at https://www.tp-link.com/download-center. Select your adapter model and follow the instructions to download and install the driver.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the driver.
Notes:
- If you encounter issues installing the driver, try disabling your antivirus software and firewall, then attempt the installation again.
- In Windows 7, if a Windows Security message pops up, refer to the Troubleshooting section labeled "T4" in the manual.
- If you receive an unknown publisher message, select "Yes" to continue.
- If Windows User Account Control requires admin credentials, enter the username and password of your Windows administrator account.
Once the driver is successfully installed, you can proceed to join a wireless network.
Join a Wireless Network:
1. Click on the network icon (usually located in the taskbar) on your computer.
2. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
3. Click "Connect" and enter the password for the network when prompted.
