To set the temperature on the ZURN ZW3870XLT Aqua-Gard Thermostatic Mixing Valve, follow these steps:
1. Remove the protective blue cap on the valve by inserting a small blade screwdriver into the slot at the base of the cap and lightly pushing up.
2. Use an adjustable wrench or combination wrench to rotate the flats on the valve clockwise to lower the temperature or counter-clockwise to increase the set temperature.
3. Read the temperature with a thermometer to verify the set temperature.
4. Run a plumbing fixture and reinstall the protective plastic cap to the device to verify the set temperature.
It is important to note that for bathroom operation, the maximum temperature should not exceed 95-115°F (35-46°C). The valve has a set temperature accuracy of +/- 3°F (1.78°C).
