To set up the Dual CS 618Q Direct Drive Turntable, follow these steps:
1. Platter installation:
- Place the aluminium platter onto the turntable bearing.
- Place the platter mat on top of the turntable platter.
2. Tonearm installation:
- Remove the coated wire and open the safety clip securing the tonearm at the tonearm rest.
- Fit the removable headshell onto the tonearm by placing it into the socket at the end of the tonearm and turning the socket in the direction of the arrow.
- Fit the supplied counterweight onto the tonearm by screwing it on from behind. Keep the dial facing forward.
3. Balancing the tonearm:
- Place the turntable on an even horizontal surface.
- Remove the stylus guard and lower the tonearm lift.
- Position the tonearm in between the platter and the tonearm rest, not resting on the stylus.
- Turn the anti-skating dial to "0".
- Turn the counterweight backwards or forwards until the tonearm reaches a horizontal balance.
- Place the balanced tonearm back onto the tonearm rest and secure it with the clip.
- Hold the counterweight in position while turning the tracking force dial to "0" (12 o'clock position).
4. Connecting to the amplifier:
- Connect the RCA cable to the Audio output "AUDIO OUT" at the turntable and the PHONO input sockets at the amplifier.
- Move the switch on the turntable to the position: PHONO.
- Connect the ground connection GND with the amplifier to avoid noise.
5. Power supply:
- Fit the specific adapter plug relevant to your country and socket system to the power supply.
- Plug the power supply into a power socket.
Once you have completed these steps, your Dual CS 618Q Direct Drive Turntable should be set up and ready to use. For more detailed instructions and safety information, please refer to the owner's manual.
