To install the BlendMount BRD-2001 R Radenso Radar Detector onto your rearview mirror, follow these steps:
1. Install your radar detector onto the mount before installing it on the rearview mirror. Squeeze the release tab and the back side of the mount together to release tension from the spring clip. This will lower the bottom portion of the spring clip, allowing you to slide the radar detector on and off the mount.
2. Push the release button on the radar detector when installing and removing it from the spring clip. Slide the clip into the radar detector as far as possible. Install the radar detector a few times to observe how the spring clip functions. The spring clip is designed to avoid putting excessive pressure on the mirror stem when installing and removing the radar detector.
3. The mount is designed to fit rear-view mirror stems that are 3/4" or 7/8" in diameter. If the mount is too big to clamp onto your mirror stem, use the two bushings provided.
4. Before installing the mount, try moving the mirror upward by grabbing the mirror and using the windshield pivot only. Adjust the mirror to your normal viewing position using the mirror pivot only. This will ensure the mirror is in a higher location, as shown in the instructions.
5. Install the mount while sitting in the passenger side of your vehicle. Remove the right-top portion of the mount and position the mount around the mirror stem. Reattach the right side of the mount. Make sure the lock washer is still on the lower clamp xxxx . Leave the top xxxx loose so the mount can slide along the mirror stem and rotate to the desired location. If there is a plastic oval clip around a wire and the stem, it must be removed to install the mount. Lightly snug the screws, but do not fully tighten until the last step.
6. The center link of the BlendMount can be removed if a shorter mount length is needed, depending on your rearview mirror and desired position for the radar detector.
7. Install the radar detector onto the mount and make necessary adjustments. Use the vertical adjustment to position the radar detector as close to the bottom of the mirror as possible. The spring-clip holding the radar detector is designed to flex downward to allow access to the radar detector buttons.
8. Once the radar detector is positioned correctly, tighten the lower clamp/top pivot screws fully. Use the long arm of the alien wrench to ensure these screws are securely tightened. The bottom clamp screws should be fully tightened before tightening the top clamp xxxx to prevent the clamp from loosening over time.
9. To access the buttons of the radar detector, gently push downward on the front of the radar detector with one finger and push the desired button with another finger. Allow the radar detector to return to its original position by gently letting it spring upward. Be careful not to push down more than necessary.
Note: The mount can get extremely hot when sitting in direct sunlight. If you intend to remove your radar detector frequently, you may want to install the included "TOUCH STRIPS" where your fingers make contact with the mount.
