To install the SAN HIMA VATM039A Towing Mirrors on your Toyota Land Cruiser 70-79 Series, please follow the steps below:
1. Prepare the Vehicle: Start by removing the door panels according to the manufacturer's instructions. Remove the OE mirrors and the Toyota badge on your door.
2. Prepare Mirror Bases: Mark and drill out the base holes for the mirrors. If your vehicle has extended OE mirrors with 4 fixing points, remove any rivet nuts and use the supplied backing plate in the mounting hardware. For LC76 Wagon and 78 Troopcarrier, you will need to drill two base fitting holes through your door skin.
3. Fit the Mirrors: Prior to installing the mirrors, fit the supplied rubber pads to them.
4. Secure Bolts & Backing Plates: Use the securing bolts with washers to secure the top mounting holes in the door. For the base holes, place the supplied backing plates on the inside of the door skin and insert the securing bolt with washers through the hole of the metal grommet and into the hole of the mirror base. Hand tighten the bolt with a Phillips screwdriver.
5. Tighten Four Securing Bolts: Once the mirror is aligned and in place, fully tighten the four securing bolts with a socket.
6. Push in Covers: Use the push-in covers from the base bolt cover caps kit to cover the securing bolts. Use the smaller push-in covers to cover the exposed bolts above the securing bolts. Ensure they are secure.
7. Re-fix Badge: Re-fix your Toyota badge using double-sided 3M tape.
After installation, check if your mirrors are functioning correctly and adjust them to suit your driving position.
Please note that this is a general installation guide. For detailed instructions and illustrations, refer to the SAN HIMA VATM039A Towing Mirrors User Manual provided with the product.
