To install the SAN HIMA VATM038A-SIL Towing Mirrors on your Toyota Land Cruiser 100, please follow the steps below:
1. Remove the internal door cover. The right side is the "latch end", and the left side is the "hinge end".
2. Lower the door window all the way and remove the 4 screws at the door base.
3. Remove the 2 plastic caps at the "hinge end" by using a flat screwdriver or interior trim tool.
4. Remove the screws under the caps.
5. Remove the triangular plastic cover at the hinge end that covers the mirror bolts. Firm manual pressure is required to detach it.
6. Pop out the xxxx cover by wedging in a flat screwdriver and remove the xxxx behind the cover.
7. Remove the outer cover of the door latch with a flat screwdriver. First, loosen the top, then the bottom.
8. Use a flat screwdriver and a plastic ruler or interior trim tool to remove the electric window control panel.
9. Press down on the small tag to remove the wire plug behind the electrical window control panel.
10. Remove the xxxx behind the window control panel.
11. Remove 2 plastic pins at the "latch end" and 1 at the "hinge end".
12. Use a Phillips screwdriver to pop inside button.
13. Remove by using your fingernails to lift them out.
14. Remove all the screws and pins that connect the door cover. Tap underneath the door cover with the palm of your hand until the top separates from the window cavity.
15. Remove the door panel.
16. Press the small tag to unplug the electrical wiring that connects to the mirror electrics.
17. Use a 10mm socket or ring spanner to loosen the bottom bolts. Do not touch the xxxx in the center which helps support the mirror when you are removing bolts.
18. Once the bolts are removed, lift the mirror and carefully remove and feed the electrical cable through the door frame.
19. Seat the SAN HIMA towing mirror in place, and ensure that the rubber seal is flush and in position.
20. xxxx in the top bolt first (initially not too tight) then the others. Tighten all bolts.
21. Connect the mirror's electrical plug ends and check whether the electrical mirror buttons work. The larger top section of the mirror should move left/right/up/down as your stock mirror does.
22. Replace the door panel. You need to feed through the cable for the electric window first, then start with the window cavity at the top and apply manual pressure to press it into place.
23. Replace the 2 plastic pins at the "latch end" then the single pin at the "hinge end". Prepare the pin by pushing the shaft through past the head. Press it back into the hole and press the center pin until flush.
24. Replace the two screws and plastic caps at the "hinge end" on the door.
25. Replace the 4 base screws.
26. First, replace the door handle cover, then the xxxx behind the door handle.
27. Replace the triangular plastic cover.
28. Your SAN HIMA towing mirror is now ready to use.
Please note that it is recommended to have another person assist with holding the mirrors while they are being detached and installed.
