To set up and configure the INTELLINET 561167-V3 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ WebManaged Switch, follow these steps:
1. Placement: Ensure that the switch is placed on a level surface that can support its weight. Leave at least 25mm (approx. 1 inch) of clearance on the top and sides for proper ventilation. Keep the switch away from sources of electrical noise and excessive moisture.
2. Optional Rack Mounting: If you want to rack mount the switch, follow these steps:
a. Disconnect any cables from the switch.
b. Position a bracket over the mounting holes on one side of the switch and secure it with screws.
c. Repeat step 2b on the other side of the switch.
d. Position the switch in the rack and xxxx the brackets to the rack.
e. Reconnect any cables.
3. Chassis Ground Column: The switch has a grounding terminal connector located on the side of the power supply connector. Wire this connector to an object that provides earth ground for proper grounding of the switch.
4. Connections: All ports on the switch support Auto-MDI/MDI-X functionality, so you can use straight or crossover UTP/STP cables to connect the RJ45 ports to PCs, routers, hubs, other switches, etc. Use the included power cable to connect the switch to a power outlet. Confirm that the Power LED lights up.
5. LED Status: The switch has various LED indicators that provide information about its status. Here are the LED colors and their meanings:
- PWR (Green): On - Unit is receiving power; Off - Check connection.
- SYS (Green): Blinking - System is normal; Off - System not started.
- Link/Act/Speed 1-8 (10/100M: Orange, 1000M: Green): On - Valid port connection; Blinking - Data transmitted/received; Off - No link established.
- PoE 1-8 (Orange): On - The connected powered device (PD) is receiving power; Blinking - Abnormal power supply; Off - No PD device is linked.
- 9-10 (SFPs) (Green): On - Valid port connection; Blinking - Data transmitted/received; Off - No link established.
6. Basic Web-Based Browser Management: To access the switch's management interface, follow these steps:
a. Open your web browser.
b. Enter "http://" followed by the IP address of the switch in the Address field. The default management IP address is 192.168.2.1.
c. Press Enter to display the login screen.
d. In the Username field, enter "admin". In the Password field, enter the serial number located on the bottom of the switch.
e. Click OK to log in and access the management interface.
