To install the FRACARRO 270653 OPT-PDM-SCA, follow the instructions provided in the manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Ensure that the installation is performed by qualified personnel in accordance with local safety laws and regulations.
2. The product should be installed in a dry environment, inside buildings, and should not be exposed to dripping or splashing water.
3. Before installation, make sure to clean the optical connectors using an appropriate cleaning kit. Fracarro RadioIndustrie offers a cleaning kit with code 287536.
4. Choose the appropriate model of the OPT-PDM-SCA based on the optical input connector required. The two available models are OPT PDM SCA with SC/APC input connector and OPT PDM MINI with MINI input connector.
5. For the OPT PDM MINI model, ensure that the fiber locking guide is in position A before inserting the MINI connector. Once inserted, press lightly on the connector and push the fiber locking guide into position B.
6. When wall mounting, use expansion anchors suitable for the characteristics of the fixing support. The wall and the fixing system must be able to support at least 4 times the weight of the equipment.
7. Leave sufficient space around the product to ensure proper ventilation.
8. Avoid installing the product near heat sources, in dusty places, or where it may come into contact with corrosive substances.
9. Do not look directly into the optical connectors as the laser radiation is not visible to the naked eye and can cause long-term damage.
10. Before working with the splitter's optical connectors, always ensure that the lasers of any optical transmitters connected to it are turned off.
