To install the Command Access MLRK1-CAL Motorized Latch Retraction Kit, follow these steps:
1. Flip over the exit device and remove the four screws securing the push pad assembly to the housing.
2. Slide the push pad off the exit device housing.
3. Locate the front activating bracket and remove the original mounting bracket by pushing out the pin.
4. Install the point of the front activating bracket into the opening of the motor's attaching bracket, resting it on top of the nylon roller.
5. Once the point is in the opening, depress the push pad until the holes on the activating bracket and motor mount line up. Re-install the factory pin.
6. Connect the MM4S cable to the back of the motor's three-pin and four-pin connectors.
7. Slide the push pad and motor kit back into the housing, being cautious of the MM4S cable wires.
8. Flip the baserail/pushpad over, holding the motor kit in place to keep it attached. Secure the motor kit with the two provided M4 screws.
9. Plug the cable's four-pin top port and three-pin bottom port into the MM4S ports.
10. Use double-sided tape to secure the MM4S to the inside of the back of the exit device housing. Connect the Molex Pigtail. Add the mounting pad and cable tie to secure the cable wires.
Additionally, make sure to set the "Push to Set Adjustment" (PTS) following these steps:
1. Select your preferred torque mode by pressing the device push pad to the desired setting. It is recommended to fully depress and release the pad by 5% to allow for changing door conditions.
2. While depressing the push pad, apply power (e.g., presenting the credential to the reader).
3. Continue to keep the pad depressed until the device beeps six times. After the beeps have stopped, release the pad to complete the adjustment. If the adjustment is not to your liking, repeat the three steps.
4. Once you have found the correct location, turn the PTS switch to the OFF position.
