To mount the HINKLEY 5053BN-CL fixture, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the mounting strap (A) by threading the two long mount screws (B) into the back of the gull wing bracket. Make sure the holes into which the screws are threaded match the spacing of holes (D) in the back plate (E).
2. Attach the mounting strap (A) to the junction box (J) using two 1" screws (C) (not provided).
3. Make electrical connections from the supply wire to the fixture lead wires, following the wiring instructions provided in the manual.
4. Slide the backplate (E) over the screws (B) and secure it with the ball knobs (F).
5. To install the glass, remove the spacer (3) and socket ring (4) from the socket (1). Place the glass (2) over the socket (1), then slip the spacer (3) and thread the socket ring (4) back onto the socket (1) and hand tighten. Be careful not to overtighten, as it could cause damage to the glass.
6. The fixture is now ready to be lamped according to the instructions provided.
