To mount the HINKLEY 5054CM-CL Miley Modern Chrome with Clear 4-Light Bath Lighting fixture, follow these steps:
1. Find a clear area to work and unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
2. Review the instructions carefully before starting the assembly.
3. Start by mounting the mounting strap to the junction box. Prepare the mounting strap by threading the two long mounting screws into the back of the gull wing bracket.
4. Ensure that the holes into which the screws are threaded match the spacing of the holes in the back plate.
5. Attach the mounting strap to the junction box using two 1" screws (not provided).
6. Make sure to read the wiring and grounding instructions (I.S. 18) and any additional directions before making electrical connections. Turn off the power supply during installation.
7. Connect the positive supply wire (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to the positive fixture lead using an appropriately sized twist-on connector.
8. Connect the negative supply wire (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to the negative fixture lead.
9. Slide the backplate over the screws and secure it with the ball knobs.
10. Install the glass socket by placing the glass over the socket, removing the spacer and socket ring from the socket.
11. Slip the spacer and thread the socket ring back onto the socket and hand tighten. Be careful not to over tighten, as it could cause damage to the glass.
12. Finally, the fixture can be lamped according to the instructions.
