To change the battery in the , follow these steps:
1. Make sure the elbow is fully flexed before attempting to change the battery.
2. Locate the battery door lock on the elbow. Use your finger and thumb to open the battery door by lifting it up.
3. Slide the rectangular portion of the new battery directly into the elbow cap in the back of the elbow. Make sure the battery is flush with the elbow cap.
4. Gently push the battery door down until you hear a "click" sound, indicating that it is securely closed.
5. Ensure that the battery is flush with the elbow cap and turn on the elbow by sliding the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
With practice, you can easily change the battery with one hand or with another prosthesis if necessary. It is important to use only the Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries provided with your prosthesis and to follow the instructions in the user manual. Do not place any objects in or on the metal contacts of the battery, as this could result in malfunction and damage to the battery pack.
If you are unable to access the battery or it is discharged, follow the instructions for "Dead Battery Situations" in the user manual or consult your prosthetist for assistance.
