To install the SUMMIT Auto Defrost All Refrigerator, please follow these steps:
1. Choose a location: Place the refrigerator on a strong, level floor that can support its weight when fully loaded. Ensure that the area is well-ventilated and protected from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
2. Adjust leveling legs: Use a wrench to adjust the two leveling legs at the front of the refrigerator to ensure it is level. This is important for proper operation.
3. Provide clearance: Leave at least 2 inches of clearance at the back of the refrigerator for airflow. Do not cover or block the bottom grill.
4. Mount spacers (if provided): If your specific model comes with rear spacers, mount them onto the condenser tube at the back of the refrigerator. This ensures sufficient clearance between the appliance and the wall.
5. Connect to power: Plug the refrigerator into a properly installed and grounded 115V AC/60Hz electrical outlet. Make sure the outlet matches the voltage rating on the appliance's label. Do not use an extension cord.
6. Reversing the door swing (optional): If you prefer the door to open from the opposite side, follow the instructions provided in the manual to reverse the door swing. Note that not all models have user-reversible doors.
7. Door handle installation (if necessary): If your unit includes a handle that requires installation, align the handle with the xxxx holes on the side you prefer. Use the included screws to secure the handle in place, then cover the xxxx heads with the handle seal.
