To light the burners on your GE Gas Heating/Electric Cooling unit, follow these steps:
1. STOP! Read the safety information provided in the manual before proceeding.
2. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting.
3. Turn off all electric power to the unit.
4. Remove the burner compartment access panel.
5. Locate the gas control switch or xxxx and slide it to the "OFF" position.
6. Wait for 5 minutes to allow any gas to clear out. Smell for gas near the unit base to ensure there are no leaks. If you smell gas, follow the instructions in the manual on what to do if you smell gas.
7. Slide the gas control switch or turn the gas control xxxx to the "ON" position.
8. Replace the burner compartment access panel.
9. Turn on all electric power to the unit.
10. Set the thermostat to the desired temperature setting.
