To select the voltage and range for insulation resistance measurement on the Tektronix VC-60B Migr Digital Insulation Resistance Tester, follow these steps:
1. Press the power button to turn on the instrument.
2. Use the voltage selection switch (AC750V/500V/250V/1000V) to choose the desired voltage for measurement. Select the voltage according to the requirement of your measurement.
3. Use the resistance range selection switch (RANGE) to select the appropriate range for measurement. Choose the range based on the expected insulation resistance of the object you are testing. The available ranges are indicated in the manual.
4. Connect the electrode of the measured object to the corresponding terminal on the instrument.
5. If you are measuring a cable, connect the G terminal to the protection loop.
6. Press the measurement button to start the measurement. Turn the xxxx to the right to lock the button. Wait for the value to stabilize, and then read the measurement from the LCD display.
Note: Make sure to connect the input line "E" to the ground of the measured object and "L" to the circuit of the measured object. The "L" line should hang in the air. If the display shows "1", it indicates an over-range condition, and you should switch to a higher range to obtain a reading. If the range button is in the " " position, it means that the insulation resistance exceeds 2000MΩ.
