To install the Trane TWE051 Split System Air Handlers, follow these steps:
1. Pre-Installation:
- Inspect the contents of the kit for any shipping damage and report it immediately if found.
- Check the heater compatibility table to ensure the selected heater is approved for use with the air handler.
- Gather all the necessary parts listed in the manual.
2. Installation:
- Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects, before servicing.
- Remove the duct flange from around the air discharge on top of the air handler.
- Remove the control wire knockout and insert the plastic bushing supplied with the heater.
- If required for ventilation, remove an additional knockout.
- Apply the gasket to the heater.
- Place the heater on the air handler and secure it in place with the provided screws.
- Route the low voltage wires through the plastic bushing to the low voltage terminal block and wire them according to the heater wiring diagram.

- For high voltage wiring, route the red wires through the plastic bushing and connect them to the appropriate contacts in the air handler contactor or fuse block.
- Replace the air handler control box cover and access panel.
- Check the blower rotation and make any necessary adjustments.
- After electrical hookup, assemble the ductwork using the removed duct flange or fashion it to fit up to the heater.
