To clean the grill mat, you can use a hand brush, broom, or scrubber with soft bristles. Avoid using brushes with hard bristles as they may damage the mat. For cleaning agents, you can use common mild cleaning agents such as household washing-up liquid, citric acid, white vinegar, or rubbing alcohol. If you prefer, you can also clean the BBQ grill mat with a high-pressure cleaner, but make sure to keep a minimum distance of 30-40 cm from the mat to avoid damage.
In terms of maintenance, if the mat comes into frequent contact with water during cleaning or due to rain, it is recommended to wipe it dry with a cloth afterward. This helps prevent the formation of verdigris and mold.
For storage, if the mat is not in permanent use underneath the grill, it is best to store it rolled up in a dry place.
