To connect the DVR to a monitor or TV for setup, follow these steps:
1. Connect the monitor or TV to the DVR using the HDMI cable.
2. Connect the USB mouse to the DVR.
3. Connect the cameras to the DVR using the BNC cables. Twist the BNC connectors to lock them in place.
4. Connect the camera power adapters to the 4-way power splitter and plug it into a power outlet.
5. Connect the Ethernet cable from the DVR to your modem/router. Note that a wired Ethernet connection is required.
6. Connect the DVR power cable to a power outlet.
Once the connections are made, follow the Activation and Setup Wizard on the monitor or TV to complete the DVR setup.
