To use the Parkell S625 Predicta Bioactive Desensitizer, follow these steps:
1. Confirm that the patient's cold sensitivity is related to exposed dentin from cervical root exposure and rule out any other dental or medical problems.
2. Explain the treatment plan to the patient and obtain informed consent.
3. Have the patient rinse their mouth with mouthwash diluted with warm water to reduce the plaque load.
4. Remove any plaque or debris from the tooth surface using gentle hand instrumentation. Avoid excessive force or rotary polishing.
5. Rinse the root surface with warm water and gently dry with absorbent cotton to avoid cold sensitivity from compressed air or vacuum suction.
6. Isolate the sensitive tooth using appropriate lip and tongue retraction devices.
7. Remove the cap from the Predicta Bioactive Desensitizer gel syringe and attach a dispensing tip.
8. Extrude a small amount of gel into a plastic mixing well.
9. Saturate a cotton pledget or precision applicator with the gel and massage it into the tooth for 30-40 seconds. Use a rubbing motion to liquefy the gel and allow it to penetrate the surface.
10. Wipe off most of the gel with a cotton roll and have the patient rinse with cool tap water to test the tooth for sensitivity. Repeat the procedure if necessary.
11. If the tooth is still sensitive and the patient has not been anesthetized, repeat the application of the gel. If sensitivity persists after a second application, consider other possible sources for the pain.
12. Provide the patient with appropriate post-operative instructions and dismiss them.
13. Discard the applicator tip and seal the syringe with the original product cap.
14. Disinfect the syringe according to the disinfection instructions provided.
Please note that the Predicta Bioactive Desensitizer gel is intended for professional dental use only and should not be used if the package is damaged. It is important to review the complete safety instructions and storage guidelines provided in the manual before use.
