To install the ATS36 36 Inch Atlas Gas Grill, please follow these steps:
1. Check the local codes and ordinances for installation requirements. If there are no local codes, follow the latest National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54) or Natural Gas and Propane Storage and Handling Installation Code (CSA-B149.1).
2. Ensure that the grill is installed in an outdoor area only. It should not be installed in a garage, building, shed, breezeway, or any other enclosed area.
3. If you smell gas, shut off all gas supply lines to the grill, extinguish any open flames, and carefully open the lid. If the odor continues, keep everyone away from the grill and immediately call your gas supplier or fire department.
4. Make sure to comply with California Proposition 65 requirements. This product may expose you to chemicals that are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Always operate the grill according to the use and care instructions found in the manual and provide adequate ventilation when cooking.
5. Do not use the grill as a storage area for flammable materials. Keep the area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.
6. Ensure that the grill is properly leveled during installation. A level grill is critical for proper burner combustion and even heating.
7. Follow the cut-out dimensions and clearances specified in the manual for proper installation. The grill must have a minimum of 4" right, left, and rear clearance from any non-combustible wall.
8. If you are using a liquid propane (LP) configuration, make sure to connect the grill to a standard 20 lb. LP tank with a Type 1 valve connection. Always follow the proper procedures for connecting and disconnecting the LP tank.
9. If you are using a natural gas (NG) configuration, ensure that the gas supply line is sized to accommodate the total BTU requirements of all the gas-fired equipment connected to it. Use a pipe with a minimum diameter of 1/2" inside or 1" outside.
10. Perform a leak test before using the grill. Create a soapy water solution and apply it to all connections and fittings. If bubbles appear, there is a gas leak. Turn off the gas supply, tighten the loose joint, or replace the faulty part before using the grill.
