To install the aube RC840T Electric Heating Relay, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the installation area has a temperature between -4°F and 140°F (-20°C and 60°C).
2. The relay can be installed on the side of an electrical box, a distribution panel, or inside the wiring compartment of an electric baseboard.
3. All wiring must comply with national and local electrical code regulations. It is recommended to have an electrician carry out the installation.
4. Before installing the relay, disconnect the power supply to prevent electrical shock.
5. Secure the relay to the mounting surface using the two mounting brackets provided. Use the supplied lock nut to secure the relay to the junction box.
6. Wire the relay and connect it according to the typical wiring diagrams provided in the manual (refer to figures 1 & 2).
7. Once the mounting and wiring have been completed, restore power to the heating system and test the installation.
8. Increase the thermostat temperature to activate the relay. Allow the system to operate long enough to proof the installation. Once the installation has been proofed, set the temperature to the normal setpoint.
Please note that this relay is not recommended for fast-cycling modulated regulation. For fast-cycling heating equipment, it is recommended to use the RT850 or RT850T (integrated 24V transformer) Solid State Relay.
