To install the Baby Trend HB40-A PROtect 2 Inch 1 Folding Booster Car Seat, follow these steps:
1. Select a suitable seating location in your vehicle. Make sure the seating location has a lap and shoulder belt system.
2. If the vehicle seat back is adjustable, adjust it to the upright position.
3. Place the Booster Seat in the selected seating location.
4. Secure the Booster Seat with the vehicle lap and shoulder belt. Make sure to use a combination lap and shoulder belt, not just a lap belt.
5. Adjust the vehicle headrest to the lowest position.
6. Secure your child in the Booster Seat. The child must sit upright with their back contacting the seat back, not slouching or sliding down.
7. Adjust the headrest so that the top of the shoulder belt guides are at or just above the child's shoulders.
8. Push the headrest release handles in and move the headrest up or down to the desired position. Make sure the handles are locked into position.
9. Place the lap and shoulder belt across the front of the child and buckle the seat belt.
10. Position the lap belt under both lap belt guides.
11. Place the shoulder belt over the child's chest and into the shoulder belt guide and into the lap belt guide closest to the auto buckle.
12. Snugly adjust the lap and shoulder belt according to the instructions in the vehicle owner's manual.
13. Check the fit of the vehicle seat belts on the child. The lap belt should be snug and low on the hips, contacting the thighs. The shoulder belt should contact the chest and be centered on the shoulder.
14. Double-check that the Booster Seat is securely installed and that the child is properly restrained.
