To configure the LANCOM 1793VA-4G+ Business VoIP Router for initial start-up, follow these steps:
1. Connect the power supply to a power socket using the enclosed or another suitable IEC cable or the enclosed external power supply unit.
2. If your device has an integrated DSL modem, connect the G.FAST / VDSL / ADSL interfaces to a TAE socket of your provider using suitable cables.
3. Use suitable cables or modules to connect other required device interfaces to other components. For devices with mobile radio and/or Wi-Fi interfaces, connect any antennas supplied.
4. Depending on the device equipment, choose one of the following configuration methods:
a) Configuration via the local network:
- Connect one of the ETH or LAN interfaces of the device via an Ethernet cable either to a network switch or directly to the network device intended for configuration (e.g. notebook). Note that the CONFIG or COM interface is not suitable for configuration via the network.
b) Configuration via the serial interface of a connected computer:
- Use a serial configuration cable whose network connector is connected to the CONFIG or COM interface of the device. This socket is exclusively intended for connection to a serial interface.
c) Configuration via the USB interface of a connected computer:
- Use a commercially available USB-C connection cable, which is connected to the CONFIG interface of the device.
5. Once all required connections have been made, choose one of the following three start-up options:
a) Option 1: Configuration via web browser (WEBconfig):
- Open a web browser and enter the IP address 172.23.56.254 to access the device. If necessary, modify the IP address according to your network setup.
- Follow the setup wizard "Basic settings" to complete the initial configuration of the device.
b) Option 2: Configuration via the Windows software LANconfig:
- Wait until the booting process of the device is completed.
- Start LANconfig software and it will automatically find the unconfigured LANCOM device in the local network.
- Follow the setup wizard "Basic settings" to complete the initial configuration of the device.
c) Option 3: Configuration via the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC):
- Refer to the specific requirements and information provided on the LANCOM website for configuring the device via LMC.
