To measure AC voltage using the AMPROBE AM-500 multimeter, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the multimeter by rotating the rotary switch to the desired measurement function.
2. Press the SELECT button to switch to the AC voltage measurement function.
3. Connect the black test lead to the COM (common) terminal and the red test lead to the input terminal for voltage measurement.
4. Ensure that the test leads are securely connected to the circuit under test.
5. Place the red test lead on the point where you want to measure the AC voltage.
6. Read the AC voltage value displayed on the LCD screen.
7. If the measurement is out of range, the symbol "OL" will be displayed. In this case, switch to a higher range or select a different measurement function.
8. After measurement, remove the test leads from the circuit.
