To install the Yale SYGAW2DP Guardian Aluminium Arctic White Securistay, follow these steps:
1. Determine the window offset: Measure the distance between the window frame and sash. Refer to the packer and xxxx selection chart in the manual to determine the appropriate installation method (flush fix, standard fix, or side fix) and select the appropriate screws and packers.
2. Determine the Guardian install height: Measure the window height and find the appropriate install height using the chart provided in the manual. Mark the height on the window.
3. For side fix applications only: Attach the side fix adapter to the sash. Align the top edge of the adapter with the install height on the window. Mark and center punch holes (hole pitch 25mm, 4mm centers from the front sash edge). Drill 2 x 3.2mm holes and attach the adapter using 2 x 21mm screws.
4. Drilling Guardian hole positions: Align the top of the template with the install height mark on the window. Mark and center punch holes in the frame and sash (or side fix adapter in side fix applications). Drill 2 x 3.2mm holes in the frame and 2 x 3.2mm holes in the sash.
5. Attach the hook to the sash: Refer to the packer and xxxx selection chart. Attach the hook to the sash using the appropriate screws and packers.
6. Attach the base to the frame: Refer to the packer and xxxx selection chart. Hang the arm over the hook and attach the base to the frame using the appropriate screws.
7. Clip the cover onto the base: Cycle the window open and shut to check the operation. Open the window to the maximum restricted position. Line up the cover and base as shown in the manual and clip on the cover assembly. Push the cover firmly to clip it in place.
To release the restriction, with the window fully closed, insert the release tool into the slot at the bottom of the Guardian Securistay and push firmly until the arm clips up in place. The window can now be opened unrestricted. Closing the window automatically re-engages the Guardian Securistay.
To remove the cover, release the restriction as mentioned above and fully open the window to allow access to the back of the Guardian. Use a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool to release the top plastic cover clip and gently remove the cover.
