To set up the COPPERHILL technology SAEJ1939 NMEA2000 BT Scanner for use with your phone or computer, follow these steps:
1. Download and install the free Windows software provided by Copperhill Technologies. This software allows you to program application parameters such as PGN Filters, CAN Baud Rate Mode, Device ID, and UUIDs (BLE only).
2. Connect the scanner module to your phone or computer via Bluetooth or BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).
3. Open the Windows software and configure the desired parameters. For example, you can set PGN Filters to reduce wireless data traffic, select the CAN Baud Rate Mode (250k/500k/Automatic), set the Device ID to a unique identifier, and configure UUIDs for BLE devices.
4. Once you have configured the parameters, they will be permanently stored within the scanner module.
5. You can now use the scanner module to transmit CAN Bus data per Bluetooth or BLE for display on your phone, tablet, or computer. The scanner will transmit all received PGNs by default, unless PGN filters are active.
Note: If you require the simulation of SAE J1939 data traffic, you can consider using the SAE J1939 to Bluetooth Gateway Module provided by Copperhill Technologies.
