To install the Frisco Wood Accents Metal Gate, follow the instructions provided in the instruction manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Set up the gate in a doorway opening where you want to use it. Ensure that the bottom of the gate is touching the floor and that the gate is not at an angle. Do not install the gate at the top of stairs.
2. If using a gate extension, install it at this point. Slide the extension into the gate, choosing the side to be extended. Do not use more than two extensions per side of the gate.
3. Locate the threaded spindle rods and twist the adjustment wheels until they are at the midpoint of the bolt. Place the threaded spindle rods into all four holes at each of the four corners on the gate. Rotate the adjustment wheels using your hands or the provided spanner to pressurize the gate against the doorway opening until the gate is secure and the gate door latch connects together.
4. Install the wall cups. Mark the placement of the wall cups by circling where the threaded spindle rod touches the wall. Use the included screws and a Phillips screwdriver to install the wall cups or use the double-sided foam tape provided.
5. Insert the threaded spindle rods securely into the wall cups. Alternate rotating the adjustment wheels on all four sides to ensure equal spacing on all four threaded spindle rods. The ideal spacing on each side is about 2.5 inches.
6. Maintain a gap of .060-.080 of an inch between the left and right parts of the door latch.
7. Check that the gate is properly installed by giving the frame a light tug and ensuring all the corners are secure with the threaded spindle rods and wall cups. You should not be able to spin the spindle rods toward the gate any further.
