To connect the Grainfather G40 Brewing System to a power supply, follow these steps:
1. Check the voltage rating label on your unit to ensure it is a North American 220V product.
2. If your unit is a North American 220V product, use the power cord, control box, and boiler body included in the box together with a 220V supply.
3. Ensure that you have a suitable power socket for the brewing system. The compatible power supply sockets are:
- 3-pin workshop and power tools supply: Compatible using the power cord supplied in the box.
- 3-pin workshop and power tools supply: Compatible by using an adapter that includes a ground connection and has appropriate electrical certification.
- 4-pin modern laundry dryer supply: Compatible by using an adapter that includes a ground connection and has appropriate electrical certification.
- 4-pin electric oven supply: Compatible by using an adapter that includes a ground connection and has appropriate electrical certification.
- Note: The 3-pin laundry dryer supply is NOT suitable for use with the brewing system as it does not provide a ground connection.
4. Plug the main power cable into the base at the back of the G40.
5. Plug the other end of the cable into a suitable power socket (15 amp in US/CA, 16 amp in EU, 13 amp in UK, or 10 amp in AU/NZ).
6. The display screen on the controller should turn on. If it does not, check that the controller cable and M16 DC connector are securely attached, and check the main power cable.
Note: For users in Australia and New Zealand, there is an option to change the unit from 10 amp to 15 amp mode. Please refer to page 15 of the instruction manual for instructions on how to enable 15 amp mode.
