To prepare the surface before applying the gel coat repair kit, follow these steps:
1. If there are any exposed metal areas with rust (oxidation), sand the area with 220 grit sandpaper to remove the rust until bare metal is visible.
2. Clean the application area using a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol to ensure the best adhesion of the product.
3. For proper ventilation during application and clean up with solvents, open a window or place a fan nearby.
4. To prevent contact with skin, wear nitrile gloves.
5. In case of spills or overage, use isopropyl alcohol or lacquer thinner to clean up.
