Before applying the chip repair kit, it is important to properly prepare the surface. If there are any metal areas exposed and rust (oxidation) is present, you should sand the area with 220 grit sandpaper to remove the rust down to bare metal. After sanding, clean the application area using a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol for the best adhesion of the product. This will ensure that the chip repair kit adheres properly and provides a long-lasting repair.
