The back probe pins and hook probe included in the FLUKE TLK282 SureGrip Deluxe Automotive Test Lead Kit are designed to provide easy and secure connections to various automotive components. Here's how you can use them:
1. Back Probe Pins: The back probe pins are used to slide into weather pack connectors on fuel injectors, TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), and MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensors. These connectors are typically found in automotive electrical systems. To use the back probe pins, follow these steps:
a. Ensure that the vehicle's electrical system is turned off.
b. Identify the weather pack connector on the component you want to test.
c. Insert the back probe pin into the connector by gently pushing it in until it securely engages.
d. Once connected, you can use the test lead set (TL224) included in the kit to connect the back probe pin to your multimeter or other test equipment.
2. Hook Probe: The hook probe included in the kit features plunger actuation, allowing for quick connection to pins or exposed conductors. To use the hook probe, follow these steps:
a. Ensure that the vehicle's electrical system is turned off.
b. Identify the pin or exposed conductor you want to test.
c. Press the plunger on the hook probe to open the hook.
d. Place the hook around the pin or conductor, then release the plunger to secure the connection.
e. Connect the other end of the hook probe to your multimeter or other test equipment using the test lead set (TL224).
