To install the synapse ANT-OSB-1.5-1 Hanging Pole Kit, please follow the steps below:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse and test that the power is off before wiring.
2. Ensure that you have the necessary tools and equipment for the installation.
3. Start by locating the hand hole in the pole. The hand hole is usually close to the bottom of the pole. Refer to Figure 2 in the installation guide for the exact location.
4. Create a hanging loop using the Gripple Express connector. This loop will slide over the hook inside the pole. Refer to Figure 3 for reference.
5. Thread the short RF cable (21") bulkhead through the .25" hole for the antenna. Make sure the threads are facing out of the pole. Slide on the lock washer and thread on the nut. Hand tighten and then add one turn. Ensure that the flange is seated and does not spin.
6. Attach the 50 Ohm terminator as shown in Figure 6 on page 2. This component will protect the RF circuitry from static damage.
7. Attach the long RF cable to the RF short cable and drop the long cable to the bottom of the pole through the hand hole.
8. Slip the loop created with the Gripple Express connector onto the hook at the top of the pole. Drop the aircraft cable down the pole to the hand hole. Adjust the length of the aircraft cable using the push buttons on the Gripple Express connector to align the Gripple Hook with the hand hole.
9. Pull the RF cable and the aircraft cable through the hand hole.
10. Use the Gripple Hook to clip onto the round hole on the flange of the Lighting Controller.
11. Remove the dust cap from the Lighting Controller bulkhead, then attach the free end of the long RF cable to the bulkhead on the lighting controller. Hand tighten the connection, being careful not to touch the pin in the bulkhead.
12. Connect the AC wiring and any required DC wiring as detailed in the lighting controller cutsheet and wiring diagrams.
13. Tuck the lighting controller and the wiring inside the hand hole.
14. After replacing the pole cap, remove the 50 Ohm terminator from the bulkhead at the top of the pole and thread the antenna on the bulkhead. Hand tighten the antenna, and then add 1/4 turn to snug it up. Do not overtighten as it may damage the RF pin inside the bulkhead.
Please note that the antenna is sold separately. Refer to page 2 of the installation guide for antenna ordering part numbers.
