To install the Ranger Design 16-U0010 Cargo Strap, please follow the steps outlined in the installation guide provided. Here is a summary of the installation process:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to read the supplied installation guide thoroughly to avoid any injuries or damages resulting from incorrect installation. Keep the installation guide accessible for reference during the installation.
2. Ensure that you have the necessary tools for the installation, including an impact, socket ½", torque wrench, 5/16-18x3/4" carriage bolts, 5/16 flat washers, 5/16 lock washers, and 5/16 hex nuts.
3. The cargo strap installation requires one person who should be qualified to install the product. Always use safety gloves, glasses, and shoes during the installation.
4. Before attempting any installation, follow all vehicle manufacturer instructions to ensure compatibility and proper installation.
5. The cargo strap assembly includes a cargo rack and a cargo+ bracket. Each component has its own set of steps for installation.
6. For the cargo rack installation (STEP 1 and STEP 2), use the provided hardware kit (96-0014) which includes cargo straps and necessary hardware. Use an impact and socket ½" to tighten the 5/16-18x3/4" carriage bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. Torque the bolts to 11 lb-ft.
7. For the cargo+ bracket installation (STEP 1 and STEP 2), use the provided hardware kit (96-0015) which includes cargo+ brackets and necessary hardware. Use an impact and socket ½" to tighten the 5/16-18x3/4" carriage bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. Torque the bolts to 11 lb-ft.
8. For the cargo+ strap operation (STEP 3), use a ½" wrench to tighten the 5/16-18x1" carriage bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. Torque the bolts to 11 lb-ft.
9. Once the installation is complete, ensure that the cargo strap does not extend past the stop sign.
