To install the TruGroove Recessed Micro Light in a T-Grid ceiling, follow these steps:
1. Prepare Fixtures: Arrange the boxed fixtures on the floor in the specified mounting locations. Remove the fixtures from the boxes and remove any plastic covering. Match up each fixture and lens based on the spec tag and ID number labeled on each fixture box for the specified run.
2. Install T-Grid: Install the main T's of the T-Grid, spacing them 2.75" on center. For continuous row lengths, refer to the supplied layout drawings. Add 1/4" to the overall housing length indicated on your layout drawings. Position the cross T.
3. Install Mounting Brackets: Install the T-Grid mounting brackets to the required height.
4. Install Fixture Above T-Bar Grid: Install the first fixture (or Standalone Unit) from above the T-Bar Grid. If you are installing standalone fixtures, you can skip to step 7.
5. Install Joiner Aligners: In the joining fixtures, install the joiner aligners in the trim extrusion to approximately halfway. To insert aligners, tap gently with a hammer until half is inserted into the joiner channel. Be sure to engage the dimple.
6. Open Slots for Joiner Brackets: Snap off the safety cover on the joiner bracket slots with a flat head screwdriver. This only needs to be done on the sides that require joining.
7. Install Joiner Brackets: Install the supplied side attachment brackets with a 3/8" nut driver.
8. Secure Fixture on the Grid: Secure the fixture to the T-Bar Grid. For continuous runs, finish installing the run first and then secure it to the T-Bar Grid.
9. Install CAT6 Cables: Install CAT6 cables in the desired location.
10. Install Seismic Restraints: Install seismic restraints according to local building code requirements.
11. LED Pan Joiner - Symmetric: Mount the LED pan connector with the supplied xxxx in the joiner kit.
12. LED Pan Joiner - Asymmetric: Mount the LED pan connector with the supplied xxxx in the joiner kit. There are two pieces for asymmetric fixtures.
13. Install Snap-In Flush Lens: Snap the lens into the fixture. For standalone units, lenses are supplied in various lengths. For continuous runs, lenses are pre-cut to a maximum of 8' lengths and are specific to run lengths. Consult the layout drawings for placement.
