To install the TruGroove surface micro fixtures, follow these steps:
1. Determine the location of the ceiling brackets and install them securely to the ceiling structure (studs or cross-braces) using appropriate hardware.
2. If using a recessed 2”X4” utility box, align and center it with the ceiling brackets and install it with the long edge parallel to the fixture module length. Ensure it is positioned 3” away from the ceiling bracket.
3. If using a surface mounted junction box, install it as required and center it with the ceiling brackets. Ensure it is positioned 3” away from the mounting bracket.
4. Determine the power feed location. For a recessed utility box installation, break off the power cover tabs at the required end. Power entry is available on one side for module lengths of 2ft, 2.5ft, 3ft, and 3.5ft.
5. Insert the aircraft cable into the gripper at both ends of the fixture.
6. Raise the module towards the ceiling, suspending both ends a few inches below the ceiling level.
7. Complete the power entry wiring connections while supporting the module in the air. Ensure all connections are secure and wires are neatly tucked inside the fixture wiring cavity.
8. For a surface mounted junction box, prepare the power feed by installing the conduit and connectors to the drilled endcap.
9. If joining multiple fixtures, tap the joiner aligners inside the top and lower chases of the fixtures.
10. Bring the modules together and engage the joiner aligners. Ensure all connections are secure and wires are neatly tucked inside the fixture wiring cavity. Slide the fixture modules together gently.
11. Secure the fixture modules together using the provided machine screws and nuts. Tighten until the joint seam is tight, but do not overtighten.
12. Raise the row of modules to the ceiling simultaneously. Tighten the joint again if required. Push excess aircraft cable through the opening, but do not trim it.
13. For surface mounted junction box installation, connect the conduit and required connectors to the drilled endcap.
14. Install the endcap onto the end of the fixture module and secure it from below using the provided screws. Do not overtighten.
15. Ensure all fixtures are level and in line with each other. Check that all joint or endcap screws are installed and all seams are tight.
16. Install the LED pan, power on the fixtures, and check that all modules light up.
17. Install the lenses and louvers as required.
