To calibrate the PCE Instruments PCE-SC 09 Sound Level Calibrator, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the calibrator by pressing the power button.
2. Use the "94 dB" key to select the 94 dB sound level.
3. Carefully insert the microphone of your sound level meter into the aperture of the calibrator as far as it will go. Ensure that the meter is placed horizontally so that the inner seal is as high as possible.
4. Wait for a short moment for the sound level displayed on the meter to stabilize.
5. Adjust the meter to the 94 dB sound level.
6. If your sound level meter has a measurement range of 114 dB, use the "114 dB" key to select the sound level of 114 dB.
7. Compare the sound level displayed on the meter with the calibrator setting of 114 dB. If the reading is within tolerance, you can finish the calibration and carefully remove the meter from the calibrator. If the deviation is not acceptable, you must start again from step 1.
Please note that this calibration procedure is applicable for sound level meters within the measurement range of both calibration points. If your sound level meter has a different measurement range, refer to the manual for specific instructions.
