To connect the onsemi NCS32100 Rotary Inductive Position Sensor Evaluation Board to your computer for evaluation, follow these steps:
1. Download the onsemi Strata Application from the onsemi website (www.onsemi.com/support/strata-develop...).
2. Connect your computer to the evaluation board using the provided USB cable. The USB connection is made to the U17 port on the evaluation board.
3. Launch the onsemi Strata Application. If it is already running, make sure to connect the evaluation board after launching the application.
4. Create a login for the Strata Application.
5. The Strata Application will automatically recognize the connected evaluation board and display the NCS32100 Inductive Rotary Evaluation Board in the list of supported boards.
6. The user interface of the Strata Application will show the current position and velocity in time plots. It will also display the position and velocity outputs near the bottom of the window.
7. On the left side of the window, there are user inputs for configuring the NCS32100. These inputs include the low battery threshold, over temperature threshold, and velocity resolution.
8. The right side of the window provides various diagnostics, including error indicators for over speed, sensor error, turn count overflow, low battery, no power, battery alarm threshold, and over temperature. These indicators can be reset by clicking the "Reset Error" button.
9. The Strata Application also allows for calibration of the NCS32100. The calibration can be run through the master controller or the NCS32100 internal MCU. The calibration routine requires the rotor to be turning at a speed less than 500 rpm.
10. Additional features and settings can be accessed through the Strata Application, such as resetting the position, resetting errors, and viewing encoder diagnostics.
Please refer to the onsemi NCS32100 Rotary Inductive Position Sensor Evaluation Board User Manual for more detailed instructions and information on using the evaluation board.
