To enable SCSI unmap on the DELL FS8600 Scale-out NAS, follow these steps:
1. Access the Dell Storage Manager software.
2. In the Storage view, select the desired FluidFS cluster.
3. Click on the File System tab.
4. In the NAS Pool Advanced Status area, click on Edit Space Reclaming Settings.
5. To enable SCSI Unmap, select the Enable SCSI Unmap (TRIM) checkbox.
6. Click OK to save the changes.
Enabling SCSI unmap allows deleted file space to be freed up and utilized by the Storage Center system for other block clients. It is recommended to enable SCSI unmap to prevent unnecessary space consumption.
