To connect the LANCOM 1640E VPN Router to your network, follow these steps:
1. WAN interface: Connect the WAN interface of the router to your WAN modem using the provided ethernet cable with the dark green connectors.
2. Ethernet interface: Use the cable with the kiwi-colored connectors to connect one of the interfaces ETH 1 to ETH 3 on the router to your PC or a LAN switch.
3. Configuration interface: If you need to configure the device via the serial interface, you will require a serial configuration cable (available as an accessory).
4. USB interface: The USB interface can be used to connect a USB printer or a USB storage device.
5. Power: Connect the power cable to the device and turn the bayonet connector 90° clockwise until it clicks into place. Only use the supplied power adapter.
Please note the following when setting up the device:
- Ensure that the power plug of the device is freely accessible.
- If the device is placed on a desktop, attach the adhesive rubber footpads.
- Do not place any objects on top of the device.
- Keep the ventilation slots on the side of the device clear of obstruction.
- If wall mounting, use the supplied drilling template.
- For rack installation, use the LANCOM Rack Mount (sold separately).
- Third-party accessories are not supported by the manufacturer.
