To properly install the FVCO SP5002B Sprinter Headliner Shelf, please follow these steps:
1. Before beginning the installation process, inspect the product for any shipping damage. If there is any damage, contact the customer service department immediately.
2. Familiarize yourself with the parts and hardware by checking the inventory using the "Package Contents" page.
3. Gather all the tools required for installation, including a 5/32 hex key Allen wrench, 7/16 box or open wrench, T25 Torx driver (coat hanger), T30 Torx driver (sun visor grab handle), and a plastic trim tool (recommended).
4. It is helpful to have a second set of hands during the installation process.
5. Start by removing the rubber coat hook covers and bolt covers (if present) on the grab handles. A plastic trim tool can be useful for this step.
6. Next, remove the screws using a T25 Torx driver for the coat hook and a T30 Torx driver for the grab handle. Set these screws aside for the next step.
7. Take the grab handle brackets and place them in position, ensuring they nestle behind the handle. xxxx the bolts back in, making sure they are snug but not tight.
8. Slide the B pillar bracket behind the B pillar trim of your van. You may need to pull the trim out slightly to allow the bracket to slide down. Avoid pulling it too much to prevent it from popping out. xxxx it back in along with the coat hanger bracket.
9. Slide the headliner shelf into place and lift it up so that it rests underneath the bracket flanges. While holding it up, use 1/4-20 screws, flat washers, and nylocks to secure the shelf.
10. Tighten all the hardware, including the T30 bolts that were left snug. Once complete, your headliner shelf is ready to be utilized for extra storage space.
