To connect the JOY-iT NEMA-23-04CL Nema Closed-Loop Step Motor, you will need to follow the instructions provided in the user manual. The motor has two multi-core cables, one for the motor and one for the encoder.
For the motor, the cable assignment is as follows:
- A+: Black
- A-: Green
- B+: Blue
- B-: Red
For the encoder, the cable assignment is as follows:
- EB+: White
- EB-: Yellow
- EA+: Green
- EA-: Blue
- VCC: Red
- GND: Black
Additionally, you will need to connect an 18-70 V DC power supply for the motor to the motor driver at V+/V-. You can also connect a protective grounding if desired.
The motor driver has a terminal block for the control signal with the following connections:
- PUL+: Positive terminal of the control pulse signal (3.3V ~ 24V)
- PUL-: Negative terminal of the control pulse signal
- DIR+: Positive terminal of the directional signal
- DIR-: Negative terminal of the directional signal
- ENA+: Positive terminal of the enable signal
- ENA-: Negative terminal of the enable signal
- ALM+: Positive terminal of the alarm output signal (<24V, 40mA)
- ALM-: Negative terminal of the alarm output signal
Please refer to the user manual for the pin assignment of the RS-232 connection and the DIP-switches configuration for micro steps, direction of rotation, input pulse mode, and step loss detection.
