To change the operating mode on the Siemens RDG200KN Room Thermostat, follow these steps:
1. Press the operating mode button (labeled "A" on the thermostat) to cycle through the available operating modes. The available modes are Comfort, Economy, Protection, Cooling, Electric heater active, Heating, Scheduler mode, Manual changeover, Auto mode, and Temporary timer.
2. When you reach the desired operating mode, release the button to select it.
Here is a brief explanation of each operating mode:
- Comfort mode: The thermostat maintains the room temperature at the setpoint which can be adjusted with the rotary xxxx .
- Economy mode: The thermostat maintains the room temperature at a lower or higher setpoint, saving energy and money. The Economy setpoints can be adjusted via parameters P019 and P020.
- Protection mode: The thermostat stops operating, but if the room temperature drops below 8 °C, heating is switched on to protect against frost. The setpoints for Protection mode can be changed by your HVAC installer.
- Cooling mode: The thermostat activates cooling to maintain the room temperature at the setpoint.
- Electric heater active: This mode is specific to 2-pipe systems with an electric heater. The thermostat activates the electric heater when cooling is required.
- Heating mode: The thermostat activates heating to maintain the room temperature at the setpoint.
- Scheduler mode: The thermostat follows a schedule programmed via the scheduler function. You can set schedules for different times of the day.
- Manual changeover: The thermostat allows manual switching between heating and cooling modes.
- Auto mode: The thermostat automatically switches between Comfort and Economy mode based on a KNX bus or local schedule. If no schedule is available, Comfort mode is used.
- Temporary timer: This mode allows you to set a temporary override for a specific period of time.
