To test network cabling using the Laserliner 083 062 Multi Cable Checker, follow these steps:
1. Connect the LAN cable (RJ45) to the sender and receiver units of the device.
2. Switch the sender unit to LAN TEST mode by pressing the MODE button until the LAN TEST mode LED lights up and the LAN TEST status LED starts flashing.
3. Compare the light sequence of diodes 1 to 8 on both the sender and receiver units.
- If the light sequences are the same (1=1, 2=2, etc.), it indicates continuity in the cable.
- If the light sequences are different (e.g., 1=8, 2=7, etc.), it indicates crossed cable connections.
- If the G diode also lights up on both devices, it indicates a shielded cable.
4. If diodes 1 to 8 do not light up on both devices, it indicates a damaged cable (e.g., cable break or connector without a contact).
5. If multiple diodes flash simultaneously and at irregular intervals, it indicates a short-circuit in the cable.
Tip: In LAN TEST mode, you can adjust the speed of the light sequence by pressing the MODE button. The LAN TEST status LED flashing slowly and quickly indicates different sequence speeds.
