To mount the Verkada SV20 Series Air Quality Sensors, you have the option to mount them on the ceiling or on the wall. Ceiling mounting is recommended for use cases such as vape detection and pollution monitoring, while wall mounting is recommended for CO2 monitoring and carbon monoxide monitoring.
During the mounting process, it is important to avoid placing the sensors near sources of accelerated air flow. This is because particles and chemicals in the air need to come into contact with the sensors to be detected accurately. By keeping the sensors away from sources of accelerated air flow, you ensure that the air diffuses normally into the device, allowing for accurate readings.
To ensure that your sensor is properly installed and capturing all environmental information, you can perform a simple test. Light a match near the sensor and let the smoke blow up into the sensor. Then, check the Vape Index, TVOC, and PM2.5 index readings in the Verkada Command platform. If needed, you can reposition or configure the sensor to ensure it is properly capturing all environmental information.
