To properly install the FVC PM0302B Promaster DIY Bed Brackets, please follow these steps:
1. Before beginning the installation process, inspect the product for any damage incurred during shipping. If there is any damage, contact the customer service department immediately.
2. Familiarize yourself with the parts and hardware by checking the inventory against the "Package Contents" page.
3. Gather all the tools required for installation, including a tape measure, impact driver, and a 3/8 driver bit.
4. Measure and mark the locations for the brackets inside the van. Measure from the rear edge of the sheet metal on the wall and place a mark on the "window ledge" at 4.5" and 54.5".
5. Grab the first bracket and set it on the ledge, ensuring that the bracket face rests flush with the wall structure. Line it up with the first mark at 4.5" and drive in the first 1/4 self-drilling xxxx . It may be easier to mark the hole locations and drill an 1/8" pilot hole before driving the self-drilling screws.
6. Verify that the bracket is standing straight and drive in the rest of the 1/4 self-drilling screws. Repeat this step for the remaining 3 brackets, aligning the back side (closest to the rear of the van) with the marks you made.
7. If you are installing your bed system without using an L-track, refer to the diagram provided for the assembly order of the fasteners to attach the bed rail to the DIY bed brackets. Use the included spacer for proper alignment and to save the threads of the screws from damage. Apply blue Loctite to the threads of the screws if you do not intend to move your bed up and down often.
8. The hole spacing on the bed brackets allows for 2" adjustments in height and also allows for the mounting of L-track. Hardware for the L-track is not provided and must be purchased separately. Use a 1/4-20 x 1" flathead xxxx to secure the L-track to the bed brackets. Ensure that the L-track purchased has the standard 4" on center mount hole spacing to fit the bed brackets.
