To remove the factory step on the side of your tow hitch, follow these steps:
1. Locate the two holes on either side of the factory tow hitch.
2. Using a 9/16 box wrench or ratchet, loosen and remove the M12-1.75 x 40 flanged hex head screws, M12 washers, and M12-1.75 nylon insert locknuts that secure the factory step.
3. Once the hardware is removed, carefully detach the factory step from the tow hitch.
4. If there is a zip tie holding the trailer wiring in place through one of the mount holes, clip the zip tie and relocate it if necessary.
Note: Be cautious when removing the factory step to avoid any damage to your vehicle or yourself. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with this process, it is recommended to seek assistance from a professional installer or qualified person.
