To set up the Brother DCP-L5500DN Mono Laser Printer, please follow the steps below:
1. Unpack the printer: Remove all packaging materials and protective tapes from the printer.
2. Connect the power cord: Plug one end of the power cord into the printer and the other end into a power outlet.
3. Install the toner cartridge: Open the front cover of the printer and remove the toner cartridge from its packaging. Hold the cartridge with both hands and gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly. Insert the toner cartridge into the drum unit until it clicks into place. Close the front cover.
4. Load paper: Pull out the paper tray from the printer and adjust the paper guides to fit the size of the paper you are using. Place the paper into the tray, making sure it is below the maximum paper mark. Push the paper tray back into the printer.
5. Connect to a computer: Use a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer. If you prefer to connect wirelessly, refer to the user manual for instructions on setting up a wireless connection.
6. Install the printer driver: Insert the included CD-ROM into your computer's CD drive and follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer driver. If your computer does not have a CD drive, you can download the driver from the Brother website.
7. Test print: Once the driver is installed, you can print a test page to ensure the printer is working correctly. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to print a test page.
