To adjust the tension of the chain on the STANLEY CS05-06 Wood Cutting Chain Saw, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the saw is turned off and the chain is not moving.
2. Locate the bar adjustment nut (Item 16) on the side of the saw near the chain.
3. Use a wrench to loosen the bar adjustment nut by turning it counterclockwise.
4. Once the nut is loose, use a screwdriver to turn the tensioning xxxx (located inside the bar adjustment nut) clockwise to tighten the chain or counterclockwise to loosen the chain.
5. Check the tension of the chain by pulling up on the chain from the bottom of the bar. The chain should be snug against the bottom of the bar but still able to be pulled easily.
6. Once the desired tension is achieved, hold the bar in place and tighten the bar adjustment nut by turning it clockwise with a wrench.
7. Check the tension of the chain again to ensure it is properly adjusted.
8. It is recommended to periodically check and adjust the chain tension during use to maintain optimal performance and safety.
